It’s the middle of April, and thoughts about prom are quickly permeating the air. Feelings of anticipation, excitement and nervousness flood the minds of students as the event draws near. Last minute preparations are being done as the year is coming to its final moments.
While making memories is certainly important, going out in style definitely makes a difference. When buying your dress it is important to keep in mind some key details, such as what is currently in season.
Overall, color and style depend on your personality. Pick a color that suits you and a style you are comfortable wearing. Most important of all, the dress must fit. If you dig trends, then aim for long delicate dresses in either gold, yellow, white, orange or multi-color. Remember: do not over accessorize.
It is important to not stress out when it comes to finding a date. There have been assumptions that you simply cannot go to prom without a date, which is preposterous. Sometimes going with friends can be a lot more fun and you are not restricted to one person for the whole night.
The prom of 2008 at St. Gen’s should certainly be one to remember. We have a very unique prom court, representing members from nearly every social circle. This goes to show how diverse the school really is. Everyone, regardless of stature, is offered different opportunities that make their high school experience unique and truly extraordinary.
